Aug12022Myrtle Street Structure FireOn 7-28-22 at 11:24 am, Woodburn firefighters responded to a residential structure fire on Myrtle Street in Woodburn. The fire is believed to have been caused by an overheated box fan that had been placed in an open window. No one was injured in the fire that caused extensive damage to the home.
Jul212022Tomlin Ave. Residential FireOn 7-18-22 at 1:01 am, Woodburn firefighters responded to a residential structure fire on Tomlin Avenue in Woodburn. The fire was started by the spontaneous ignition of rags that were used to clean up oil based stain. None one was injured in the fire that caused extensive damage to the home.
Jul212022OSFM Grant for Seasonal FirefightersThe Woodburn Fire District has received a $35,000 grant for the hiring of additional firefighters during the 2022 fire season. Two grant funded firefighters began staffing WFD’s Brush 21 on July 8th. Brush 21 is a small scale fire engine that is specifically designed for rapid response to brush and grass fires.
